The area above Snowgrass Flats along the Pacific Crest Trail is always spectacular. If one gets into the area when the flowers are at their prime it is mesmorizing experience. We have been there a couple times when everywhere one looks there is a new flower garden with alpine flowers competing for the most dazzling. Every few steps it seems like a totally different garden, yet one knows it is the same basic scene. It is worth the effort to make it in when the flowers are going beserk, usually the first couple of weeks in August. Even when one misses the peak time, it is still a great place to take the llamas and explore the beauty.
